Seeing "The Knight of the Burning Pestle" in London was really special: Mile End and the Strand are just across the river, a quick walk away. It's thrilling hearing the characters calling for you to cheer for "the honour of the city and the citizens" when you are a Londoner sitting right in the heart of the city.
Margaret Thatcher, the 'controversial former British prime minister' (I think that's the official term now) died last week, and this morning there was a not-quite state funeral three minutes from my office, in St Paul's Cathedral.
A question that must be asked:
Can you eat well for a day on only foods that are also street names in the City of London?
Why, yes! Yes you can.
